Clanwilliam Lodge

Clanwilliam Lodge is a luxurious accommodation located in the Oliphant's River Valley. It is situated approximately two and a half hours' drive from Cape Town. The lodge offers 32 air-conditioned rooms, a poolside restaurant, a cocktail bar, and delicious cuisine. Some rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers, while others have a wall separating the room and bathroom. Junior and Presidential Suites provide the option of a balcony.

The lodge's conference facilities can accommodate up to 30 delegates. It features a pool area with Bedouin daybeds, providing an oasis-like atmosphere in the semi-desert habitat. A hearty buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant every morning and is included in the stay. Guests can choose from a light lunch menu, and dinner is available either u00e0 la carte or as an extensive buffet spread. Picnic hampers are available upon request, and visitors can also experience the nearby Lambert's Bay eatery called Muisbosskerm for a sublime seafood treat.

Clanwilliam Lodge is located in the picturesque town of Clanwilliam, one of the 10 oldest towns in the country. Founded in 1732, the town is situated at the foot of the Cederberg Mountains and perched on one of the country's favorite dams. It offers a rich settler history and a central location for various attractions, including flower viewing, Bushman art, and a range of water sports. The lodge itself is a transformed girls' hostel, originally built by the Provincial Administration in 1916. Much of the furnishings in the lodge are made from wood from the original building.

Clanwilliam is famous for growing and cultivating Rooibos Tea and for its original leather "veldskoene" factory. The lodge can cater for a 60-person wedding in its garden and pool area. It has 33 rooms and can accommodate up to 74 people if all rooms are booked as sharing. The lodge's spa is open from 8 am to 10 pm, offering massages and pedicure/manicure services. There is a playground for children with swings, a see-saw, a trampoline, and a large grassy area for them to run around while adults can watch from the restaurant. The room opening to a balcony overlooking the garden and pool contains a king-size bed, and the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower and a bath. The air-conditioned room is equipped with Wi-Fi access, a bar fridge, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
