The Clarens Lantern is a charming, fully-furnished, self-catering guest house located in the peaceful town of Clarens, which is situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in the Free State province of South Africa. It offers a tranquil and unhurried stay where guests can feel thoroughly spoilt without being disturbed.

The guest house features three suite options: the Aurora Suite (with a large bath and separate shower), the Beacon Suite (with a shower only), and the Bonfire Suite (with a large bath and separate shower). All rooms are en-suite and equipped with queen-sized beds with 400 thread count linen, balconies, bathroom amenities, coffee/tea-making stations, and sitting areas. Free off-street parking is available and secured behind gates.

Clarens Lantern is situated in a peaceful part of town next to the Conservancy. The town of Clarens is nicknamed the "Jewel of the Eastern Free State" and is famous for its multi-colored sandstone formations, a unique geological feature of the area. Many beautiful homes, both old and new, are built with this sandstone.

Clarens is an idyllic destination, often compared to its namesake in Switzerland. It is conveniently located approximately 3 hours from Johannesburg and Bloemfontein, and 4 hours from Durban, making it a perfect weekend getaway for city dwellers seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life.
