Conductors Inn
R 360
Per night for 2 adults
Conductors Inn represents a distinctive accommodation experience in Namibia, featuring two converted rail carriages that have been transformed into eight luxury double-bed sleeping coaches. This unique establishment allows guests to experience a nostalgic reminder of Namibia's railway heritage, which ended in the late 1970s. The property maintains that guests might still detect echoes of the historical rail sounds if they listen carefully.
The inn is situated near two remarkable sinkhole lakes, Lake Otjikoto and Lake Guinas. Lake Guinas spans approximately 500 meters in diameter, making it larger than Lake Otjikoto. Both lakes feature lateral cave systems at their depths, making accurate depth measurements challenging through conventional methods. Lake Otjikoto, characterized by poor visibility, reaches depths of at least 60 meters. In contrast, Lake Guinas boasts crystal-clear waters extending beyond 100 meters deep. Divers conducting bounce-dives to 80 meters in Lake Guinas have reported seeing only powdery-blue water below. The lake is also home to a unique species of fish, Tilapia guinasana, which has evolved within its waters over time.
