Dakota Lodge

The Dakota Lodge is a guesthouse establishment located at Rand Airport in South Africa. It is the first guesthouse at the airport and the first in the country with an aviation theme, specifically honoring the venerable Douglas DC-3 aircraft, also known as the DAKOTA.

The Dakota Lodge offers an experience that combines the ambiance of a bygone era with modern facilities. It provides 24 en-suite rooms, each featuring a historic aviation theme and beautiful views ranging from the Johannesburg downtown area in the west to the Suikerbostrand area in the south.

Conveniently situated only 20 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport, the Dakota Lodge is also within close proximity to other notable locations. It is 10 minutes away from the Bedford Centre in Bedford View and 15 minutes from the well-known Eastgate Shopping Centre. Freeways in all directions are easily accessible from Rand Airport.

In addition to the many famous restaurants in the area, the renowned Harvard Restaurant is located just 50 meters away from the Dakota Lodge. This restaurant offers a wide variety of cuisine, including traditional South African dishes, pastas, and some of the best pizzas available. Guests can enjoy their meals in the open-air area while watching aircraft movements around the airport.

The Dakota Lodge provides three-star accommodations with double carpeted rooms equipped with 67 cm flat-screen HDTVs with PC connections, kitchenettes featuring a fridge, microwave, and kettle, modern bathrooms with 110/220 Volt power outlets, and individual air conditioning units.
