De Avond Rust

De Avond Rust, meaning "the evening's rest," is a historic homestead dating back to 1927 located in the heart of Oudtshoorn, one of the largest towns in South Africa's Little Karoo district, known for its ostrich trade. The property maintains its original decadence and luxury while offering modern amenities.

The guest house features six uniquely appointed rooms, each housed within the original homestead or grounds. All accommodations include complimentary Wi-Fi, quality linens, towels, robes, private en-suite bathrooms, secure monitored parking, and access to the on-site restaurant, The Wild Bohemian Café & Venue. Additional amenities include air conditioning, electric blankets, television sets, and mini-fridges.

Room options range from the luxurious King Suite with its spacious layout and beautiful bath/shower combination, to the Garden Cottage which offers a private setting separate from the main house. The Family Suite accommodates up to four guests, while other rooms include a Standard Double Room, a Standard 3 Sleeper, and a Queen Room featuring a canopy bed and access to an outside stoep/patio.
