The Melkkamer Homestead, a collection of stunning sandstone buildings dating back to the late 1800s, is located on the other side of the vlei, providing a remote and exclusive oasis. A generator is provided for the Melkkamer Manor House and Melkkamer Foremans Cottage, illuminating them at pre-determined times.

All three cottages are fully equipped for self-catering, allowing guests to embark on a culinary adventure. Alternatively, guests can indulge in a delightful dining experience at The Fig Tree Restaurant located at the Opstal, with advance booking being essential. For those who prefer self-catering, it is recommended to ensure ample supplies as the nearest towns are an hour's drive away.

The Melkkamer Foremans Cottage is a charming accommodation tucked away among the milkwood trees, a short walk from the vlei and the Melkkamer Manor House. It features three bedrooms, an open-plan sitting room with a dining room and fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, an outside shower, and a barbecue area. The house has no electricity, and a generator is switched on at pre-determined times.
