From the 22nd of September until the 15th of November 2017, Pop-Up Camps established its unique glamping experience within the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Western Cape. The camp accommodated a maximum of 28 guests in a combination of twin-safari and family-safari tents. The camp was established during the southern right whale calving season, and De Hoop offers some of the best land-based whale watching in the world. The reserve is also home to an abundance of wildlife and includes numerous walking cycling trails.

The camp featured idyllic beaches perfect for snorkelling, and dunes from which some of the best land-based whale watching was possible. A luxury safari family tent accommodated two adults in two 92cm (3/4) beds, and two stretcher beds for children under 16. Beds were provided with full linen, towels and bathroom amenities, and stretcher beds with sleeping bags. A chemical flush toilet and warm water bucket shower was attached to each tent. Each tent had electric lighting, but no plug points.
