De Oude Meul Country Lodge

De Oude Meul Country Lodge is a self-catering accommodation located at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains. It is surrounded by mountains, river streams with weeping willow trees, and a variety of flowers in full bloom, offering a peaceful and tranquil environment. In the late afternoon, various wild buck feed on the lawns surrounding the property. Frogs break the silence of the approaching evenings with their chirps, and birds announce the start of a new day. The lodge features nature at its best.

De Oude Meul Country Lodge offers 6 different types of rooms suited to accommodate 48 guests in total. The accommodation ranges from twin rooms, double rooms, luxury suites, to two-bedroom self-catering apartments. Block A & B: Classic accommodation for 2 guests, equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, bar fridge, microwave oven, kettle, TV, coffee & tea facilities, safe, dresser with hairdryer, plates, cutlery, and cups & glasses. Each room has its own private outside veranda to enjoy meals and drinks. Block C: Self-Catering units cater to all needs. Two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, full kitchen, and lounge area. These units also have a sleeper couch to accommodate 2 children under the age of 10. Two large sliding doors lead to a private balcony equipped with a BBQ area and breathtaking views of the surrounding nature.

On-site facilities include 2 sparkling swimming pools, fishing, bird watching, wine tasting, secure parking, conference facilities, Wi-Fi, 4x4 routes, hiking trails, BBQ areas, and a few friendly dogs to keep visitors company during their stay. Small dogs will be permitted as long as they are on a leash when walked around the lodge property. Many tourist attractions are located nearby to keep visitors occupied for a few days, including the Swartberg Pass, Kango Caves, and various ostrich farms in the close vicinity. The lodge is a real little paradise in the Klein Karoo, with tame game such as eland, kudu, springbuck, zebra, and blesbuck on the fields in front of the lodge. There is also a Jungle Gym/Play Area & bunny enclosure, and a family self-catering unit with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with showers, an outside patio with a braai area, a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and internet access.
