De Oude Pastorie Victoria West

De Oude Pastorie Victoria West is a charming guest house located in Victoria West, a peaceful Karoo town on the N12 highway. It is situated within walking distance from the Apollo Theatre, the only art deco theatre in the country. The guest house offers five guest rooms, each equipped with an en-suite bathroom, private entrance, tea and coffee facilities, a fan, and electric blankets for the cold winter nights.

Guests can relax in the comfortable lounge area, which features a TV and a fireplace, or enjoy the braai facilities. The guest house serves a delicious Karoo dinner with lamb chops or venison, as well as dessert. There is a playground on the premises, and show poultry is available, which children particularly enjoy. From the 1st of December 2016, guests can also enjoy refreshments in the tea garden. Safe parking is provided on the premises.

De Oude Pastorie was the first residence of the Dutch Reformed Church in Victoria West. The building plans for the church and the residence were accepted on the same night in September 1846. According to the minutes, the cypress trees in front of the house are even older than the building itself.

The guest house offers the following meal options: R150 per adult for dinner, including dessert and tea/coffee, R90 per adult for a full English breakfast, and R90 per person for a lunch packet. Children's tariffs are available on request. The guest house features a lovely lounge with a fireplace and is approximately 2km from the town's golf course. It is a child-friendly establishment with a large yard where children can play and make use of the playground. Show poultry is available, which children and parents enjoy. The guest house also provides children's books for story time. The rooms are comfortably furnished, featuring double or single beds and en-suite bathrooms. Electric blankets are available for the cold winter nights.
