Di Plaaswerf is a guest farm situated on an operational agricultural property in Fouriesburg, Free State, South Africa. Located just 2km outside the picturesque town on the R711 road to Clarens, the property offers stunning views of the Ventersberg mountain while sharing space with grazing cattle and sheep, accompanied by abundant birdlife.
The accommodation consists of four distinct units. The Farmhouse accommodates up to 12 guests, featuring a spacious farm-style kitchen, two bathrooms (one with shower, one with traditional bathtub), indoor fireplace, Wi-Fi, and DSTV. The Chalet is suitable for two adults and one child, offering a fully equipped kitchen, shower bathroom, indoor fireplace, and viewing patio. The Rondawel, perfect for couples, provides a double bed accommodation with a bathroom featuring both shower and bathtub, plus an indoor/outdoor kitchen. The Rose Cottage, the newest addition, can accommodate up to seven people with additional space for children on a sleeper couch, featuring two en-suite bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.
The property is strategically located, with Clarens 20 minutes away and Golden Gate National Park accessible within 40 minutes. It sits 8km from the Lesotho Caledon Border post and 65km from Afriski. The R711 route, on which the farm is located, is recognized as one of South Africa's most scenic drives.
Facilities include a communal lapa equipped with braai facilities, and the property offers various activities including 4x4 trails and hiking. During load shedding, most units are equipped with gas stoves and geysers. Guests should note that they need to bring their own towels, and while emergency lighting is provided, guests are encouraged to bring additional lighting solutions.
