Die Houthoop

Die Houthoop is a guest farm located in the Northern Cape region of Namaqualand. The name is derived from a pile of wood arranged in a semi-circular shape, which serves as an open-air restaurant. The farm can accommodate up to 66 guests and features 25 huts, four self-catering units with en-suite bathrooms, and 10 grass camping sites with access to electricity.

Die Houthoop is centrally situated, in close proximity to the sea and the Namaqua National Park. It is located on the route to Richtersveld, approximately 60 km from Port Nolloth, 85 km from Hondeklipbay, and 115 km from Springbok.

The farm offers various activities for guests, including swimming in the pool, 4x4 routes, sand surfing, bird watching, sea fishing, and cray fishing. Additionally, it provides a buffet restaurant specializing in seafood and a small chapel suitable for weddings. Die Houthoop is well-suited for team-building events and can accommodate large groups, such as the RSG 4x4 groups that visit annually. The farm offers an informal setup in a safe and lovely environment.

There are 10 camping sites available, each equipped with electrical points and access to shower facilities.
