Die Kaia is a place located on the banks of the Little Fish River, approximately 4 km outside Somerset East on the Suurberg/Addo Road/R335. In the mornings, the sound of a fish eagle announces the break of day, and one can potentially witness bushbuck drinking water and otters playfully frolicking in the river. As the morning unfolds, the singing of birds heralds the arrival of a new day, inviting visitors to enjoy life.

Die Kaia offers the opportunity for fishing, where visitors may catch carp, yellow fish, catfish/baber, or eel. Accommodation options include four Tented Houses, each equipped with electricity, coffee, milk, sugar, and rusks. One tent has a double bed, another has two single beds, and the remaining two have bunk beds. There is also a camping site close to the main establishment, where camping is offered at no extra cost. Additionally, a newly built caravan park is available, complete with ablution blocks and electricity access at most points.

Die Kaia caters to various functions, such as weddings, school groups, and children's parties. Visitors can experience various activities happening on the premises, whether it's shearing time for sheep and goats or harvesting time for maize or Lucerne. Recreational activities available at Die Kaia include braaiing, swimming, tube riding, canoeing on the river, fishing, horse riding (by arrangement), birdwatching, hiking (by arrangement), the use of a big-screen TV for sports, a licensed bar in the lapa, a wireless Internet hotspot, and team-building activities.
