Die Waenhuis Guest House

Die Waenhuis Guest House is an elegant establishment situated in the heart of George on Caledon Street, Western Cape, South Africa. This historic property features a main house with seven en-suite rooms, including three that open onto verandas, a loft room with a balcony, and four interior rooms.

Each room is uniquely decorated, combining antique and vintage pieces in an eclectic style with modern amenities. The rooms are equipped with either air conditioning or fans, heaters or underfloor heating, electric blankets, bar fridges, and safes. One room features a fireplace. All bedding is 100% cotton percale, and luxury cotton towels are provided. Modern conveniences include Satellite TV (Hotel Bouquet), free WiFi, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryers, and working desks with lamps. The property is equipped with a solar power standby system for uninterrupted service during power outages.

The guest house boasts a spacious lounge with a Victorian fireplace, an honesty bar, and a library. The extensive garden features a covered deck with braai (barbecue) facilities, mature trees, and indigenous flower beds, creating a peaceful retreat. A covered verandah serves as a pleasant spot for breakfast or evening drinks.

Breakfast is served either in front of the old Dover stove or on the veranda, featuring special coffee, home-baked bread and croissants, homemade preserves, cold meats and cheeses, and hot breakfast options cooked to order.
