Die Watergat

Die Watergat is situated on the banks of the Steelpoort River, between Burgersfort and Steelpoort. It offers a tranquil setting with rooms within walking distance of the restaurant and bar. Each room provides a lovely view of the garden, river, or the swimming pool.

The Guesthouse has eleven rooms with shared bathrooms, each equipped with a TV with DStv, air conditioning, and tea and coffee facilities. Additionally, there are five rooms with shared shower-only bathrooms, furnished with three-quarter or twin beds, TV with DStv, and tea and coffee facilities. These rooms are also equipped for self-catering.

There are thirty-four Luxury En-suite Rooms furnished with double or single beds, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and a TV with DStv. The log cabin serves as the Honeymoon Suite with a double en-suite room, lovely garden views, air conditioning, and tea and coffee facilities.

The restaurant serves an u00e0 la carte menu, where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is well-known in the area for its tender steaks and famous Watergat Burger. Lunch packs are available on request. Guests can enjoy the lovely bushveld scenery and river view from the deck at the bar or restaurant.

Various activities are available at Die Watergat, including horse riding, swimming, quad biking, birdwatching, and tube riding on the river after the rains. The bushveld surroundings accommodate a vast array of bird life, making it perfect for birdwatching. The Steelpoort River runs throughout the year, making Die Watergat an all-year favorite destination.
