Duiker Game Lodge

Duiker Game Lodge is a private game reserve situated just outside Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The property features eight tastefully decorated en-suite chalets connected to the main lodge via walkways, offering guests both privacy and convenient access to central facilities. Each chalet is equipped with modern amenities including WiFi and a private coffee station, allowing guests to enjoy home comforts while experiencing the tranquility of the bush from their private patios.

The lodge is set within a 400-hectare estate that hosts an impressive variety of wildlife. Visitors can observe plains game including giraffe, sable, kudu, zebra, nyala, wildebeest, impala, and reedbuck. Other resident species include warthog, ostrich, jackal, mongoose, porcupine, aardvark, and genet, with occasional sightings of more elusive creatures such as leopard and hyena. The property also supports a diverse ecosystem with dung beetles, vultures, shrews, weaver birds, termites, and abundant indigenous flora.

Daily activities include morning and evening game drives. The dawn drives offer guests the opportunity to experience the morning chorus of birds and nature's first stirrings, while evening drives showcase spectacular sunsets and wildlife preparing for nightfall. The lodge features a Bush Boma away from the main building for traditional braai experiences.

The establishment is strategically located near major attractions including Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, Mkuze Game Reserve, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, iSimangaliso Wetlands Park. St. Lucia, famous for its hippo and crocodile boat cruises, is also within reach.

The accommodation options include Queen Chalets, ideal for couples, and Twin/King Chalets that can be configured to suit different guest requirements. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and modern amenities, with additional facilities available for children under 12 years old where applicable.
