Ekuthuleni Lodge

Ekuthuleni Lodge is a luxury accommodation situated in the heart of the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, a wildlife sanctuary covering approximately 33,000 hectares in the Waterberg Mountains of South Africa's Northern Province. The lodge nestles in the midst of the reserve, offering guests a peaceful escape surrounded by unspoiled African savannahs.

Ekuthuleni Lodge features five intimate, fully en-suite chalets that provide panoramic views of the stunning natural landscapes. The lodge can accommodate larger conference groups by special arrangement. Rates for guests include exclusive accommodation, three meals a day, tea and coffee, and two game drives. However, personal bar accounts, curio shop purchases, transfers to and from the lodge, and laundry services are not included in the rates.

The Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is renowned for its vast range of animals, including the Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes), as well as other species such as aardvarks and zebras. Game drives are conducted twice daily, allowing guests to explore the reserve and observe the diverse wildlife in their natural habitats. Additionally, the reserve features Bushman rock paintings, offering a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage.

Ekuthuleni Lodge is a three-hour drive from Johannesburg, and daily road and air transfers can be arranged upon request. The reserve also has private landing strips and is equipped to accommodate private helicopter transfers. Guests are advised that pick-up at the Welgevonden Main Gate is at 12:30, and private vehicles are not allowed in the reserve. Late or early arrivals may incur a surcharge as the lodge is a 45-minute drive from the gate, and these requests are subject to availability.

The lodge welcomes children aged 6 and older and offers a family suite that can comfortably accommodate up to four guests. Guests can relax by the swimming pool, taking in the sweeping grassy plains and famous African sunsets, creating the perfect atmosphere for an adventure-filled and peaceful bush experience.
