Elephants Footprint Lodge is a cosy lapa-style lodge situated under the Addo Heights foothills. It offers 12 luxury suites with semi-open plan bathrooms and a special feature of open-air 'rock face' showers, all under thatch. The lodge has a deck with a woodland-style plunge pool, where guests can unwind with a glass of wine chosen from the cellar. A full Continental/English breakfast is included in the rate.

The lodge is located 1km off the N2, 30 km from Port Elizabeth and 2km from the Southern Gate (Camp Matyholweni) of the Addo Elephant National Park. It is close to the Alexandria Dunes, the village of Colchester, the beach, and the mouth of the charming Sundays River Valley. The weather in the area can change from hot during the day to cool in the evening, so guests are advised to have a warm jacket handy at all times. Swimming costumes and sunblock are essential, and long trousers are recommended for evenings. Warm jackets may also be needed for boat cruises in Autumn, Winter, and sometimes in Mid Summer.

The East Cape weather is known for its variability, but the Sunshine Coast, where the lodge is located, features the most sunshine hours in South Africa. The temperatures are generally mild throughout the year, averaging around 25u00b0C in summer and 20u00b0C in winter.
