Emilie's Garden Home

Emilie's Garden Home is a private and secure self-catering cottage located in the posh suburb of Eastcliff in Hermanus. The house, which was built in the early 1970s, has been in the same family for three generations. It has undergone renovations, but the original Oregon Pine floors, doors, and a lovely fireplace have been retained.

The property accommodates up to six guests and consists of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. The first bedroom features a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin. This room also has an old stable door leading to the garden. The second bedroom is equipped with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, toilet, and basin. The third bedroom has a brass double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin.

The living area is furnished with Coricraft couches, multiple armchairs, a fireplace, a flat-screen TV with Netflix, and free fiber optic internet. French doors lead to the native, water-smart garden. The spacious dining area features a large table with six chairs and a Welsh kitchen cabinet, leading to a kitchen equipped with a Bosch fridge-freezer, Smeg gas stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, and an electric frying pan. There is a separate sink area with a dishwasher, washing machine, and a tumble dryer.

The house has a porch that stretches around the entire property, with outdoor furniture, seating, and braai facilities. The garden is child-friendly, featuring a large climbing frame where children can play while parents relax on the veranda bench and enjoy a braai.

Emilie's Garden Home is within walking distance of the Old Town center, seafront, Marine Tide Pool, Old Harbor, and the popular Hermanus Rock Roads. The Hermanus beaches and lagoon are located in Vou221au00b4lklip, approximately 7 kilometers away. Hoyskoppie and Fernkloof Nature Reserve are also nearby. Guests can walk to the Hermanus Saturday Morning Market or drive to The Market in Sandbaai. Hermanus High School, Hermanus Primary School, Generation School, sports fields, and sports clubs are all within walking distance.

The property is fully fenced and has an electric gate, Trellidor security gates, and armed response for excellent security. There is parking available for one vehicle on the premises. The cottage is eco-friendly, utilizing solar power, a gas stove, and pit irrigation in the garden.
