Erin Farmhouse & Cottages

Erin Farmhouse & Cottages is a Karoo homestead located near Middelburg in the eastern Karoo region. It offers individual cottages for farm-style accommodation. The property is situated a few minutes' drive from the town of Middelburg and is conveniently located in the fresh, clean air of the open farmland, away from lights and other disturbances. Erin Farmhouse & Cottages is a pet- and child-friendly establishment, offering views over the sweeping plains towards the nearby Renosterberg mountains.

The accommodation is situated approximately halfway between Johannesburg and the Garden Route/Cape Town, providing a convenient stopover point for travelers. It is located just off the N9 highway between Middelburg and Graaff-Reinet, offering a quiet and noise-free environment suitable for relaxation and unwinding in the tranquility of the open Karoo.

The accommodation is pet-friendly, with all units having a 1.2-meter high fence to keep animals safe and contained. All units are fully equipped for self-catering, including braai facilities and a complimentary pack of firewood provided every night. The units are furnished with fans and heaters but do not have air-conditioning. Televisions, radios, and other sources of noise or disturbance are not permitted to ensure a peaceful and undisturbed environment.

Guests can enjoy sundowners while watching the sun set over the Renosterberg mountains to the west, perhaps with a braai (BBQ). Walking, bird watching, and stargazing are encouraged to fully experience the tranquility of the Karoo surroundings.

The Meerkat Cottage, an open-plan unit, can accommodate 3 to 4 guests and is furnished with two 3/4 beds, one single bed, and one single pull-out bed. This cottage features a kitchenette and a patio with braai facilities.
