The Farm Cottages At Au D'Brandy Route are situated on the Arbeid Adelt farm, which was part of the original farm De Doorns, one of the first four farms established in the Hex River Valley in 1731. In those days, the old carriageway always followed the easiest route near water for the sake of the animals. Many travellers and adventurers journeying between the Cape of Good Hope and the Karoo visited this farm to purchase cases of brandy and experience the hospitality of the farm. The Victorian manor house on the estate, built in 1897, is the only remaining so-called "Brandy Palace" of the Hex River Valley.

The self-catering farm cottages comprise two double bed units, each with its own kitchenette and open-plan bathroom. Additionally, there is a standalone 2-bedroom cottage situated across the road from the main estate. The units are equipped with all the necessary appliances to ensure a comfortable stay, including WiFi and DStv. The kitchenettes are stocked with tea, coffee, and milk. Braai facilities are also available and must be arranged in advance. The premium cottage features a King bed with a private bathroom, an equipped kitchenette stocked with tea, coffee, and milk, a workspace, and a lounging area. A covered porch along the front of the unit connects it to the serenity of the estate's oak trees.

Guests can experience all four seasons in the Hex River Valley. Summer is the ideal time to visit a packing shed and taste the grapes. The valley's scenery showcases the splendor of each season u2013 hot, green summers; brown, leather patch-blanket autumns; cold, snowy winters; and a spring full of color and excitement for the new table grape season. Visitors can experience the refreshing atmosphere of the Hex Valley, its table grape vineyards, and the panoramic views of the Matroosberg Mountain.

Activities in the area include walking trails through the vineyards, hiking trails, rock climbing, golf, wine tasting, 4x4 trails, mountain biking, and game farms. Alternatively, guests can unwind and relax under the estate's large oak trees.
