Fernhill Guest Farm is located in the Rheenendal area outside Knysna, surrounded by ancient forests and known for its excellent cycling and hiking trails. The property sits 15 minutes from Knysna and Buffels Bay beach, and 20 minutes from Sedgefield's Wild Oats Market. The establishment offers both self-catering farm cottages and glamping tents, providing a genuine South African farm experience.

The two-bedroom farm cottages feature a main bedroom with a double bed and a second room with two single beds, plus a sleeper couch in the living area. Each cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge with a wood fireplace, and a covered patio with braai facilities. The cottages are pet-friendly, featuring fenced gardens and separate entrances, all constructed on one level for easy access.

The property also offers three types of tented accommodation set within an indigenous forest: a Double Tented Treehouse, a Family Tented Treehouse, and a Small Family Tented Treehouse. These luxury tents feature en-suite bathrooms with spa baths, fully equipped kitchenettes, and private decks with forest views. The Family Tented Treehouse spans multiple levels and includes bunk beds, though it's not suitable for children under six due to steep stairs without handrails.

The 56-hectare property is situated within a conservancy, home to diverse wildlife including bushbuck, bush pigs, leopards, monkeys, baboons, porcupines, and various bird species. Guests can participate in authentic farm activities such as hand-milking cows, interacting with farm animals, and enjoying homemade farm-fresh ice cream.
