Forest Bird Lodge

Forest Bird Lodge is nestled in an evergreen forest amongst indigenous trees in Magoebaskloof, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The establishment, which won the Sleeping-OUT's Guest Satisfaction Award for Best Establishment in Magoebaskloof in 2018, offers a secluded retreat where mist creates a mystical atmosphere among the trees.

The property features two accommodation options: the Log Cottage and the Log Cabin, each sleeping four guests. Both units feature two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The Log Cottage provides elegant, comfortable rooms with tree views and includes an outdoor shower, while the Log Cabin boasts a large patio for nature observation.

The surrounding environment offers complete privacy where guests can enjoy the sounds of a mountain stream and observe visiting bird parties and foraging samango monkeys. Activities include short walks along the mountain stream to picturesque waterfalls, and a more challenging hiking trail leading to a valley viewpoint. Mountain biking enthusiasts can enjoy a 5-kilometer return trip along the forest road to the main road.

The lodge's natural setting creates an immersive experience where visitors can escape work stress and connect with nature. While the establishment provides a peaceful retreat, it should be noted that it is not pet-friendly.
