Forest Bird Lodge is situated in an evergreen forest among indigenous trees just outside of Tzaneen. The lodge creates a feeling of anticipation for fairies and other woodland creatures, and the mist creeping through the forest gives it a mystical atmosphere. The forest provides complete privacy, where guests can feel at one with nature. Various birds can be seen from the lodge as well as Samango monkeys that forage in the trees. There are short walks along the mountain stream with beautiful waterfalls. A more strenuous walk takes visitors up through the forest to a lovely lookout point of the valley. Mountain bike trips of 5 km can also be enjoyed along the forest road.

The log cabin is built in the forest. It is secluded, giving guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy the bird life around them. It has a large patio where guests can become one with nature. It has two double bedrooms en suite.
