Fort Mistake Country Lodge

Fort Mistake Country Lodge is situated just off the N11, approximately 35 km from Dundee, and 50 km from Ladysmith and Newcastle. It offers guests a choice of accommodation options. The lodge has six en-suite rooms furnished with either double or single beds. Additionally, it offers a Family Room with a double bed and two single beds, as well as a Family Apartment that contains a queen-size bed and two single beds. The Family Apartment also has a small kitchen.

All the units at Fort Mistake Country Lodge are air-conditioned and equipped with a fridge, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. Braai facilities are available for use, and there is a farm stall on the premises that offers basic amenities. The lodge also features a large dam where overnight guests can enjoy fishing. Walking routes to Fort Mistake and other sites can be arranged upon request. Furthermore, the lodge has a small hall available for hosting functions.

The region where Fort Mistake Country Lodge is located forms part of the Battlefields Route, a historic area that played a significant role in intense clashes involving notable figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Winston Churchill, Shaka Zulu, and General Louis Botha. Today, visitors can explore this region as part of a guided tour or a self-drive experience, using maps and brochures to trace the battles that took place in the area.

The comfortably furnished, air-conditioned rooms at Fort Mistake Country Lodge contain a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The beds can be converted into twin beds upon request. Each room is equipped with a TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a small fridge.
