Fynbos Guest Farm & Animal Sanctuary is an award-winning establishment located in Wolseley, South Africa, approximately 90 minutes from Cape Town. The 67-hectare property combines hospitality services with conservation efforts and animal rehabilitation, having earned the Cape Winelands Award for Sustainable and Responsible Tourism in 2019.
The accommodation offerings include three self-catering farm-style cottages equipped with indoor fireplaces and outdoor braai facilities, ten private caravan and camping sites with electrical points, and two bed & breakfast rooms in the farmhouse, each featuring private entrances and en-suite facilities.
The sanctuary houses various rescued animals, including zebras, llamas, alpacas, horses, ostriches, and springbok. Operating as a self-funded entity, it relies on donations and sponsorships to maintain its animal welfare initiatives. Visitors can participate in supervised animal feeding with approved foods.
On-site amenities include two scenic walks through Renosterveld and Fynbos vegetation, a labyrinth, a glass meditation room, gardens, and a café & farmstall serving meals throughout the day. The property maintains a no-noise policy to ensure guest tranquility and prioritizes ecological restoration through the reintroduction of native flora and removal of alien species.
The location serves as an ideal base for exploring nearby attractions in Ceres, Tulbagh, and the Witzenberg Mountains, with activities such as hiking, birding, waterfall visits, cherry picking, horse riding, zip-lining, cheese tasting, and chocolatier visits available in the surrounding area.
