Galago Private Bush Lodge

Galago Private Bush Lodge is set on 17 hectares of pure bushveld and is located 16 km from Bela Bela on the R516, Thabazimbi road. It is situated only an hour from Pretoria and one and a half hours from Johannesburg. The lodge offers an ideal setting for small private group functions and secluded getaways. The only bush traffic that can be encountered are birds, small game, and the lodge is illuminated by stunning sunsets, campfires, and magnificent star-lit nights.

The lodge consists of four comfortable en-suite cottages, two of which are two-bedroom cottages, one four-bedroom cottage, and one eight-bedroom cottage. Each cottage has its own bathroom with a flush toilet, hand basin, and shower with hot and cold water. Linen and towels are provided. All cottages are self-catered with full kitchen utensils and equipped with a fridge, a four-plate gas stove, tea and coffee stations, and free-standing portable braais.

The communal Lapa includes a dining table, chairs, and braai facilities. There is a solar-heated swimming pool and paths through the bush to observe resident duikers, impala, nyala, abundant birdlife, and game on the adjoining farms. A tuck shop is available for daily needs, as well as Internet access.

The lodge offers four spacious camping sites with private ablution facilities and six newly constructed camping sites with their own ablution facility. These sites are paved with gravel and equipped with a 15A power outlet and a braai stand. The camping site has its own swimming pool and Lapa, which is also available for guests who want to host private functions.

Nearby activities include visiting elephant and cheetah sanctuaries located 10 km from the lodge, game viewing (available on request), a golf driving range, and the hot springs in the area.
