Gelukkie, meaning "a concentrated measure of unadulterated joy," is a family-run establishment located in Paternoster, Western Cape, South Africa. Founded approximately 20 years ago by Ruth and Andrew, who arrived when the road to Paternoster was still unpaved, the property was inspired by the unique West Coast environment, featuring fynbos, white-washed fisherman's cottages, and the turquoise Atlantic Ocean backdrop.

Located just an hour and a half from Cape Town, Gelukkie has evolved into a distinctive venue that combines rustic charm with relaxed elegance. The property sits two minutes away from Paternoster's pristine beaches, offering visitors a blend of Karoo-like tranquility and coastal adventure.

The establishment features three self-catering accommodation options: Klein Gelukkie, Nog 'n Gelukkie, and Los Gelukkie. Each cottage is uniquely designed with king-size beds, private gardens, and braai (barbecue) facilities. Klein Gelukkie offers a spacious layout with a chill-out room and dining area. Nog 'n Gelukkie provides a cozy retreat with a walk-in wardrobe, while Los Gelukkie features a fireplace and full bathroom with both shower and bathtub.

As a wedding and functions venue, Gelukkie specializes in intimate celebrations, accommodating up to 80 guests. The venue offers comprehensive wedding services, including in-house catering, decor, flowers, and wedding coordination through their family team. Couples can choose between beach ceremonies with garden receptions or ceremonies in Gelukkie's own gardens. With over 50 years of combined event experience, the venue has been featured in numerous interior and decor publications.
