Gentle Presence

Gentle Presence Cottages are set in a large garden with stunning mountain and garden views. The cottages are free-standing and have their own entrances and covered parking. Cottage 1 holds historical significance, dating back to the 1900s, when it was originally a stable where farmers would gather for Holy Communion. This cottage can accommodate six persons on a self-catering basis and has been decorated with a mix of antiques and modern furnishings to create a cozy and homely atmosphere. It offers outdoor dining on the patio, a braai, and a firepit.

The open-plan dining/living area in Cottage 1 features a TV and free fiber WiFi. The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, stove with oven, and a microwave. A guest toilet is located on the ground level. The lounge has a comfortable sleeper couch that can accommodate two children/teens or one adult. Wooden stairs lead upstairs to two bedrooms and two adjacent bathrooms with showers over the bath. The bedrooms offer queen-size beds and provide wonderful mountain and garden views from both the balcony and the beds themselves. Both rooms have doors onto the balcony and are equipped with heaters, fans, electric blankets, throws, extra blankets, towels, and a hairdryer.

Cottage 2 is set at the bottom of the garden and offers delightful views towards Golden Gate National Park and the Maluti Mountains from the bed and the patio. Originally an outer room, it has been converted into a modern open-plan room that sleeps two guests. The double bed features modern quality linen, an electric blanket, and extra throws/blankets, and towels are provided. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower, basin, and toilet. The kitchenette is well-equipped with a fridge and microwave (no stove), and guests can enjoy the built-in braai and outside patio area. The cottage has a freestanding fan and heater, a smart TV, and free fiber WiFi.

The cottages can be booked individually or as a group. The property is private with no immediate neighbors and has a lovely firepit. Both bedrooms offer stunning views of the mountains and garden, which can be enjoyed from the bed. Clarens Golf Estate is a mere 2 km from the property. The patio offers guests perfect views while watching children play in the large garden or having a braai. The outdoor firepit is popular for roasting marshmallows, and families and close friends appreciate the privacy of the cottage.
