The Gharagab Wilderness Camp is located in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, which spans across the South African and Botswanan border. It is situated in the far northern region of the South African side of the park, providing guests with elevated views of the Kalahari dunes and the thornveld savannah. The camp is accessible only by 4x4 vehicles, traveling on a one-way access road reserved for Gharagab residents.
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a vast wilderness area where red dunes and scrub fade into infinity, and herds of gemsbok, springbok, eland, and blue wildebeest follow the seasons. Imposing camel thorn trees provide shade for huge black-maned lions, while leopards and various raptors find vantage points among the branches.
Guests who have booked the Gharagab Wilderness Camp check in at Nossob, which is located 164 km (four hours) drive south of the camp and is the closest point for shops and fuel supply. The camp is unfenced, and a tourism assistant is on duty. The rates for the camp are subject to the number of adults and children staying, and quotes will include the 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which are to be paid directly to the camp upon arrival. Each cabin offers two single beds.
