Glen Harry Game Reserve, located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, offers an exclusive African wilderness experience across 25,000 acres of protected ecosystem. The accommodation comprises rustically designed stone chalets that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The Lapa Lodge features four stone chalets - Eland, Impala, Kudu, and the luxury Klippy Cottage - each accommodating two guests with twin/king beds and en-suite bathrooms. Additionally, the self-catering Pepper Tree Cottage can accommodate four guests in two bedrooms and includes a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area, fireplace, outdoor braai area, and plunge pool.
All chalets offer uninterrupted views of the reserve and its roaming wildlife. They are equipped with high-quality cotton percale bed linen, luxurious towels, separate indoor and outdoor seating areas, ample storage, refrigeration, and beverage-making facilities. Climate control and modern bathroom amenities ensure guest comfort throughout the year.
The reserve's facilities include lantern-lit pathways leading to communal areas, featuring a bar and dining space where meals are served beside log fires. A boma provides an ideal setting for stargazing and storytelling, complete with a built-in braai for social gatherings.
Activities available to guests include morning, evening, and night game drives, guided walks, mountain biking, running trails, and swimming in a salt pool. The reserve is home to 177 bird species, including nesting Black Eagles, making it particularly attractive to bird enthusiasts. Cultural experiences include a bushman painting tour by the San People, while evening activities feature champagne sundowners at Lost Valley Lookout and bush picnics.
