Go Country

Go Country Farm is set against a mountain slope surrounded by grasslands and forests. The working farm is an ideal stopover for nature lovers, backpackers, golfers, and group getaways. It is situated off the tarred Kruisfontein road, just 12km from Dullstroom town, 4.5 km from the beautiful Highland Gate golf course, and 9.5 km from the Bird of Prey Rehabilitation Centre. There is a 1.2km dirt road leading to the cottages.

The farm offers five self-catering, rustic farm-style cottages positioned near tranquil dams and amidst the forest. All cottages are self-catering and fully equipped with kitchen utensils, stoves, and fridges. They have fireplaces in the lounges and heaters in the bedrooms. Linen, blankets, and bath/shower towels are provided but not permitted outdoors. All cottages have braai areas outside, and guests need to provide their own braai wood, charcoal, and firelighters. There are no televisions or Wi-Fi in the cottages, and Vodacom and Cell C are the only cell phone reception on the farm.

Guided horse rides are available at R250 per rider per hour (maximum 95kg per rider), subject to booking, weather, and other conditions. Hiking and cycling are also available on the property. There are three dams with Bass fishing, and bass gear and fly rods are allowed. Day fly fishing for trout is available at dams in the area upon inquiry. The dams are suitable for swimming in summer, and guests should bring their own swimming towels and picnic blankets.

All pets are welcome at Go Country Farm. However, the cottages are not fenced, and dogs must be socialized, familiar with children and other animals, and on a flea/tick program. Pets must sleep inside the cottages, and guests need to bring their own dog bowls, bedding, and towels. Consideration must be given to the resident farm animals, game, and other guests visiting Go Country. Right of admission is reserved for visitors to Go Country Farm, and all visitors voluntarily assume all risk of loss, damages, and injury. Firearms, Chinese lanterns, and fireworks of any kind are not permitted on the property.

Set on a hill away from the other cottages, Shona's is a delightful two-bedroom cottage with a large open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area. It has a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a second bedroom with two single beds and a shower.
