Gourikwa Nature Reserve

Gourikwa Nature Reserve is a private nature reserve situated close to Gouritsmond in the Hessequa District. It extends over 2455-hectares and stretches 5 km along the Indian Ocean. The reserve is fully fenced along its 15 km perimeter and accessible via two gated entrances.

The reserve offers quality accommodation with beautiful views of the Indian Ocean, suitable for guests seeking a peaceful atmosphere while enjoying nature. The accommodation options include 6 Gourikwa cottages that can accommodate 2 to 4 guests, 9 Fisherman Houses, and 15 Single Villas. The Fisherman Houses are secluded units with two bedrooms each, and one unit sleeps up to 6 guests in three bedrooms. The Gourikwa cottages have two bedrooms and accommodate four guests. The Honeymoon Suite has one bedroom and accommodates two guests, making it perfect for a romantic getaway. The Villa rooms are 2-sleeper, open-plan units, available with either double or twin beds.

Gourikwa Nature Reserve offers WiFi facilities to its guests. It is also an ideal setting for a beachside wedding, featuring a picturesque chapel with a thatch roof and bell tower located merely 50 meters from the shore. Within walking distance from the chapel is a banquet hall that can accommodate between 180 and 200 people. The pool house can be utilized as an additional bar facility with restrooms.

The reserve's conferencing facilities are suitable for groups or corporates and can accommodate up to 50 people. Being an isolated reserve, it provides an opportunity for groups to experience a true escape, making team-building, training, or motivational talks more effective.

Guests are welcome to use their 4x4 vehicles on the tough, sandy terrain of the reserve. The reserve offers cozy, intimate cottages at the water's edge and opportunities for family bonding time in the midst of nature.
