Greenfire Lodge Drakensberg is situated on a 2000-hectare indigenous property located on a national heritage site. The mountain lodge is accessible only by a 4x4 vehicle, or alternatively, transport can be arranged. It is situated at an elevation of 1800 meters above sea level and is surrounded by the greater Drakensberg peaks on the property.

The closest village to the lodge is Bergville, approximately 50 kilometers away. The reserve is home to a colony of the rare Cape vulture and many other indigenous species, including eland, as well as lush indigenous forests and bushmen paintings. The reserve is an excellent destination for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring.

Accommodation is offered in en-suite Canadian-style log cabins or family cabins, each comprising two twin-bedded bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Each room features a fireplace. There is a main communal cabin for dining and a cozy bar for socializing, overlooking the famous amphitheater of the Royal Natal National Park. The log cabins are Canadian-style, double or twin en-suite, mountain-facing, solar-powered, and equipped with a fireplace for winter.
