Grootwaterval

Grootwaterval is a sheep farm located in the Central Karoo region of South Africa, situated approximately 45 kilometers from the village of Prince Albert, at the base of the Swartberg Pass. The farm offers a variety of accommodation options for visitors.

The farm provides an opportunity for guests to experience the vast and tranquil environment of the Karoo, enjoying panoramic views of the veld and marveling at the wonders of a clear night sky. The farm raises merino sheep, known for their fine-grade wool, which are sheared every ten months. The spacious house is located seven kilometers from the main farmhouse and operates without electricity, relying instead on oil lamps for lighting. The main building features an open kitchen equipped with all necessary amenities, and a cozy fireplace in the living room provides warmth during the colder winter nights. The four bedrooms, two with double beds and two with single beds, are all en-suite. The house also includes a generous patio area with an outdoor fireplace, where guests may spot gemsbok, kudus, and springboks passing by.
