Gunyatoo Trout Farm & Guest Lodge is a charming fly-fishing, birding, and nature retreat situated in the picturesque and malaria-free Rhenosterhoek valley, located just off the Long Tom Pass between Lydenburg and Sabie, approximately 40 kilometers from Nelspruit. The guest lodge is ideally positioned for easy access to various tourist attractions in Mpumalanga, including the Kruger National Park, Pilgrims Rest, Sudwala Caves, and the Panorama Route.

The thatch and stone lodge offers luxurious yet affordable accommodation, recently refurbished with several suites, all featuring beautiful views of the surrounding pine forests. The rooms are en-suite and have their own private patios, perfect for enjoying early morning beverages. For those requiring self-catering facilities, a fully equipped four-sleeper family cottage is available. Additionally, a fisherman's cottage that sleeps up to eight people offers a more rustic self-catering option, secluded at the edge of the property near the trout dams and raceways, ideal for group fishing trips.

The farm is a fully operational trout farm, comprising a processing area, hatchery, nursery, raceways, and two stocked dams for fly fishing enthusiasts. Limited stream fishing is also available for experienced anglers. Private fly fishing lessons and group clinics can be arranged on-site. After a day of fishing, guests can unwind at the bar, enjoy a game of pool or darts, relax in the sauna or swimming pool, or warm up by the roaring log fires in the lounge.

The lodge is a perfect destination for a fishing vacation or weekend getaway, but any nature lover will find themselves in a proverbial paradise. For those seeking a more sedentary experience, relaxing on the wooden decked patio and watching the abundant birdlife is a must, as the Sabie area is truly a birder's paradise, with a huge variety of common and globally and nationally threatened bird species. On-farm trails and walks to nearby waterfalls and caves are available for those seeking exercise, and clay-pigeon shooting can be organized on-site. Other activities such as quad bike tours, horse riding, gorge swinging, and rafting can be arranged.

Nearby attractions within an hour's drive include Sudwala Caves, Fanie Botha Hiking Trail, Kruger National Park, Panorama Drive, and the Emnotweni Casino. Several golf courses are also located within an hour's drive from Sabie, making Gunyatoo an ideal central base for a memorable golfing holiday.
