Gunyatoo Trout Farm and Guest Lodge is a charming countryside retreat located in the malaria-free Rhenosterhoek valley of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Situated just off Long Tom Pass R37 between Lydenburg and Sabie, approximately 45km from Nelspruit, the property offers ideal access to the region's major tourist attractions.

The lodge is nestled among pine forests and provides both luxury accommodation and self-catering options. Guests can choose between dinner, bed & breakfast arrangements or self-catering facilities. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms and private patios with scenic views. The property offers various self-catering cottages that can accommodate between 2 to 10 people.

As a working trout farm, Gunyatoo features two stocked dams and stream fishing opportunities for fly-fishing enthusiasts. Rainbow trout are regularly stocked, and lucky anglers might even catch a wild brown trout. The venue caters to both experienced fishermen and nature lovers, offering various activities including quad bike tours, horse riding, golfing, bird watching, and hiking.

On-site amenities include a swimming pool, walking paths, a Koi pond, and an enchanted Fairy Garden for children. During cooler weather, guests can warm themselves by the log fire in the lounge. The property also provides access to nearby attractions such as tobogganing and scooter riding along the Panorama Route.

The name "Gunyatoo" derives from the Aboriginal word "Gunya," meaning "home area," reflecting the lodge's philosophy that guests should feel at home during their stay. The stone lodge, originally built in 1900, has been recently refurbished while maintaining its historic charm. The property also includes eco-friendly cottages near the trout dams, including the 8-sleeper Stargazer and the romantic 2-sleeper Love Shack.

Visitors can conveniently access nearby attractions including the Kruger National Park, Sudwala Caves, Pilgrim's Rest, and various points along the Panorama Route, making Gunyatoo an excellent base for exploring the region's natural and cultural heritage.
