Mokala National Park, managed by SANParks, is the newest addition to South Africa's national parks. The park is situated approximately 70 kilometers south-southwest of Kimberley and west of the N12 freeway to Cape Town. Its landscape is characterized by a diverse terrain featuring koppieveld (hills) and vast open plains.

The Haak-En-Steek Rest Camp within Mokala National Park offers a rustic cottage located in the bush, providing unspoiled views of a nearby watering hole. The cottage can accommodate up to four guests and is equipped with a gas stove, geyser (water heater), an outdoor braai (barbecue) area with a lapa (thatched shelter), and solar-powered lighting.

Due to the close proximity of the cottage to the camping site at Haak en Steek, this site is reserved exclusively for the use of cottage guests. However, for larger groups or gatherings with family and friends, guests have the option to hire additional camping sites as well.

It is important to note that the rates for the cottage are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes provided will include the 1% Community Levy, but daily conservation fees are to be paid directly at the camp upon arrival. The cottage is furnished with one double bed and two single beds, a gas stove, a gas fridge-freezer, utensils, cutlery, crockery, a toilet, and a shower. There is no electricity available in the cottage.
