The Haarwegskloof Renosterveld Reserve is located between Bredasdorp and Swellendam in the Overberg region. It offers a tranquil and relaxing setting, as well as an opportunity to experience the rich plant life, animal life, and bird life of the area. The Reserve is home to the largest connected stretch of Lowland Renosterveld remaining in the world today, making it a historically significant site.
The Old Dairy Guesthouse, situated within the Reserve, provides rustic, self-catering accommodation with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The guesthouse features an indoor fireplace for winter use, as well as a splash pool and braai facilities for the summer months. Parking is available on the premises.
Visitors can explore the Renosterveld Reserve by walking, hiking, or cycling along the quiet farm roads, allowing them to witness the ongoing conservation efforts aimed at preserving this critically endangered habitat. The surrounding area offers additional activities, such as wine tasting at Sijnn Wines in nearby Malgas, taking the new ferry at Malgas, and visiting the various bush pubs along the Breede River.
The Old Dairy Guesthouse consists of three bedrooms: two rooms with double beds and one room with two single beds, comfortably accommodating up to six people.
