Hartfell Farm

Hartfell Farm is a property situated among rolling hills, forests, and grasslands near the town of Dullstroom. The farm consists of three well-stocked trout dams for fly-fishing and offers lovely walks and views. It is divided into two sections by the Kruisfontein Road, with the upper portion comprising mainly grasslands and the lower developed section consisting primarily of forest, creating a unique ambiance distinct from most other venues in the area.

The farm caters to both families seeking a peaceful and private getaway, as well as keen fishermen. Various walks are available, including a waterfall walk that leads either to the base or the top of a 30-meter waterfall, a river walk near indigenous forest, and longer perimeter walks around the area. These walks offer opportunities for bird enthusiasts, particularly during the summer months. Parts of the Kruisfontein Road are also utilized for mountain bike races, and joggers and mountain bikers alike enjoy the scenic route with low traffic.

The area features a wide variety of fauna and flora, including nocturnal animals, interesting bird species, and several red data plant species. A nature enthusiast named Piet is available to share information about the local wildlife and vegetation. Located just 11 kilometers from Dullstroom, guests can enjoy the tranquility and complete privacy of the farm while being in close proximity to the town's pubs and shops.

Three charming, fully furnished self-catering cottages are available for accommodation, each with its own unique character to suit different tastes. The cottages are completely separate and set amidst stands of very old oak and blackwood trees, ensuring privacy. All cottages are serviced, and firewood is provided for the convenience of guests. Each bedroom has a private entrance, en-suite bathroom, and a sleeper couch, allowing the lodge to comfortably accommodate eight guests with the potential for an additional eight guests on sleeper couches if required. All bedrooms are connected to the central living area by wooden decks.
