Henley River Lodge is a self-catering house located in Henley-on-Klip, approximately 50 kilometers from Johannesburg. It is situated in a peaceful environment that reminded one of the founders of his hometown on the River Thames. The lodge has an unfenced lawn by the slow-moving river, where local children race motley collections of rafts during the yearly regatta.

The house offers a beautiful lawn suitable for outdoor activities such as cricket, rounders, or croquet. It is designed as a great entertaining space with simply and comfortably furnished rooms that overlook the river. The open-plan living area features glass doors leading to a slate patio, an ideal spot for the famous South African braai (barbecue).

Henley River Lodge has been recently renovated and extended to offer four bedrooms, three of which are en-suite. The lodge can be fully or partially let, and rates are charged depending on the number of rooms required. If four guests are requested, the rate will be for two rooms. If more rooms are needed for single occupancy, the calculation is based on two guests per room.

The lodge is exclusive use, meaning that non-booked rooms will remain locked and not accessible to other guests. The room descriptions are as follows:

Room 1 - Queen bed, en-suite bath, and shower
Room 2 - Queen bed, shower only, not en-suite
Room 3 - Queen bed, en-suite bath, and shower
Room 4 - Queen bed, en-suite shower only

The property features tiled floors, air conditioning, and a sleek, granite-topped kitchen for keeping cool during the summer. In winter, there is an open fire with an endless wood supply and underfloor heating. Activities in the area include canoeing, hiking, diving at Bass Lake, cycling, and birdwatching, as the lodge is adjacent to a wetland with abundant birdlife. Several coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants are available in the surrounding area.
