The Golden Gate Highlands National Park is situated in the rolling foothills of the Maluti Mountains in the northeastern Free State province of South Africa. It offers the Highlands Mountain Retreat, which provides secluded accommodations for visitors. The retreat features wooden cabins located into the mountainside, offering stunning vistas of the surrounding Maluti Mountains that seem to stretch as far as the eye can see.

The Highlands Mountain Retreat is a luxury camp that is home to eight log cabins located at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level. These excellent wooden log cabins ensure visitors have a striking view of the surrounding Maluti Mountains, an experience that cannot be matched by any other accommodation options in the area. The cabins are designed to retain warmth during the chilling winter season while allowing coolness during the summer months, providing a calm, peaceful, and isolated environment.

Rates at the Highlands Mountain Retreat are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes provided will include the 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which are to be paid directly to the camp upon arrival. The Family Log Cottage FT4 features check-in at the Glen Reenen Reception, DSTV (Limited Channels), a fireplace, a kitchen, a non-smoking policy, one bedroom with two single beds, one bedroom with a double bed, two en-suite bathrooms with a toilet and shower, and a veranda with a Weber braai.

It is important to note that the rates displayed are the base rate for 1-4 adults. Additional charges will apply for additional adults and children. The compulsory SANP community levy will be included in the quote, but SANParks daily conservation fees are not included and are payable upon arrival at the camp.
