HillsNek Safari Camp is an exclusive lodge situated within the Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, positioned on the banks of the Bushman's River. The property offers stunning views of the African plains and comprises a main lodge constructed of stone, canvas, and thatch, alongside four elevated luxury tented accommodations.
The accommodation consists of canvas safari tents, each set on extensive wrap-around wooden decks and connected to the main lodge via raised walkways. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower, complimentary tea and coffee facilities, and a minibar. One unit is specifically designed as a family tent, featuring two bedrooms with an interconnecting door and shared bathroom, suitable for families with children under 12 years.
The main lodge serves as the heart of the camp and includes a restaurant and swimming pool. Located approximately 70 kilometers from Port Elizabeth, the camp provides easy access to urban amenities and beaches. The nearby Addo Elephant National Park is a notable attraction within driving distance.
The camp offers twice-daily game drives across its 18,000-hectare reserve, where guests can observe diverse wildlife including elephant herds, buffalo, giraffes, and numerous other species. Of historical significance, the site is known for the discovery of South Africa's first dinosaur fossil, the Cape Iguanodon, and maintains a commitment to paleontological conservation and the preservation of this important historical site.
The design and setting of HillsNek create an authentic African safari experience, allowing guests to feel immersed in the landscape while enjoying modern comforts and luxury amenities.
