Hitgeheim Country Lodge

Hitgeheim Country Lodge is a prestigious eco-reserve located in the malaria-free Sundays River Valley of South Africa's Eastern Cape, positioned just minutes from the renowned Addo Elephant National Park. The lodge stands as the third-largest National Park in South Africa and is celebrated for its conservation success, particularly with its unique Southern tuskless African Elephant herds.

The property features 16 luxurious free-standing thatched chalets, divided into two distinct wings - an adults-only section and a family-friendly area, each with its own swimming pool. The accommodation options range from Superior De Luxe rooms with private pools to family suites and garden cottages. Each unit offers stunning views of citrus orchards and countryside, equipped with luxurious bathrooms, outdoor showers, and private wooden decks.

The lodge specializes in providing exceptional safari experiences, offering guided tours in both Addo Elephant National Park and the Schotia Private Game Reserve. Their experienced guides lead tours in open safari vehicles, providing guests with opportunities to witness not only elephants but also disease-free African Buffalo and elusive lions in their natural habitat.

Dining at Hitgeheim embraces authentic South African cuisine, featuring continental breakfast buffets, traditional "South African Braai" (barbecue), and special themed dinners showcasing various African tribal foods. The dining facilities offer panoramic views of the Addo area, and guests can select wines from the lodge's private underground cellar.

The property extends across 240 hectares of Addo bushveld and serves as an ideal venue for intimate weddings, accommodating up to 36 guests.
