Hollywood Lodge is a historical place that was formerly the first high school for grade 8 and a dance hall for the Nama people in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. It was purchased by Johannes Vries in 1983 and renovated into a house. The place-name "Old Hollywood" has been maintained over the years. Johannes Vries' granddaughter recognized the potential to renovate the property into a lodge to accommodate tourists from all over the world.

Johannes Vries was born in 1900 and had Nama and German ancestry. During the war in South West Africa, now known as Namibia, he served as a Magistrates messenger. He was involved in several historical events during his lifetime. Johannes Vries passed away at the age of 105, leaving a significant impact that is now recounted by his granddaughter, Letitia Louw. She is a nature and historical guide who offers various tours in and around Steinkopf, sharing the history of Kinderlu221au2122 and other historical sites. Letitia Louw also provides customized hiking tours and can be hired as a driver to take tourists on special tours and sightseeing experiences.

The lodge features the "Aloes" accommodation, which consists of two rooms suitable for families or groups. It is situated in a separate section of the house, with its own private lounge area featuring a television and a veranda. The rooms are cozy, and due to the unique construction of the house with thick walls, they remain cool in the summer and warm in the winter, offering a homely atmosphere.
