Honey Lodge is a welcoming self-catering establishment situated within the Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve in Gauteng, South Africa. The property features a strategically positioned lapa offering 180-degree views over the Kaallaagte valley, streams, and dams, providing an authentic African bush experience.
The main accommodation consists of seven en-suite rooms with private garden entrances, collectively accommodating up to 19 guests. Each room is equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning, a safe, fridge, microwave, and cooking facilities. The rooms are available in two configurations: triple rooms featuring a double bed plus single bed, and double rooms with double beds. All rooms include en-suite bathrooms and tea/coffee making facilities.
Two additional private units complement the main accommodation: a Rondawel and a Chalet, each sleeping two guests. The Rondawel offers a queen bed with an en-suite shower room and kitchenette. The Chalet, the property's newest addition, provides a more luxurious experience with a queen bed, private patio, and fully equipped kitchenette.
The main house features a communal fully equipped kitchen and a lounge with DSTV, opening onto a veranda. Shared facilities include a fenced swimming pool requiring adult supervision for children's safety, a boma, and a lapa with gas braai facilities. The property is also home to two friendly resident cats that serve as natural snake deterrents.
Game viewing opportunities are available within the reserve, and the lodge offers various game drive options. A shop on the premises sells seasonal honey. While the lodge welcomes families and groups, it maintains a peaceful atmosphere with a no-music policy. Conservation fees for the reserve are additional and payable upon arrival at the Dinokeng Gate. WiFi is available throughout the property.
