Machado Stud Lodge is a self-catering cattle farm and fishing lodge situated in the mountainous eastern highlands of Mpumalanga, South Africa, approximately 20 kilometers from Machadodorp. The property offers stunning panoramic views and is home to various resident birds including ducks, geese, turkeys, and peacocks, making it a perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts.
The lodge features three distinct fully-equipped, self-catering cottages. The largest accommodation, Eagle's Call, comprises five bedrooms with twin beds and three bathrooms, suitable for seven to ten guests. Misty Morns, the mid-sized option, offers three en-suite bedrooms - one with a double bed and two with twin beds - accommodating four to six people. The most intimate option, Fairview Cottage, contains two en-suite bedrooms, featuring one double bed and two single beds, ideal for two to four guests.
Each cottage provides impressive views of the gardens, surrounding hills, valleys, and forests. The accommodations come fully equipped with towels, linens, and fresh milk, with daily servicing included. Additional amenities include indoor fireplaces with wood supplies, private braai facilities with charcoal supplies, and satellite-equipped TV (guests need to provide their own decoder and smart card). The venue can accommodate functions for up to eighteen guests, and home-baked products and freshly cooked meals can be arranged upon request.
