Huntshoek Lodge

Huntshoek Lodge is a luxurious accommodation situated in the African bush, offering peace and tranquility away from the distractions of the modern world. The only disturbances are the call of the magnificent fish eagle piercing the morning skies and the lazy flow of the river far below. Huntshoek Lodge has two different establishments catering to various budgets and needs.

Huntsdrift is an intimate self-catering lodge ideal for small groups. It has five rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a communal open-plan lounge, dining room, bar, and kitchen area that open out onto a central gathering point where guests can gather around a crackling fire.

Huntshoek is a luxury lodge consisting of five chalets, each with a private deck and magnificent views of the Fish River. The chalets have en-suite bathrooms as well as open-air showers for the adventurous. Huntshoek offers dinner, bed, and breakfast, with the rate per day exclusive of all beverages. Light lunches are served if guests stay more than one night, between breakfast and dinner.

Guests can bring their mountain bikes or walking shoes and explore the diverse and rugged countryside, which is alive with warthogs, bucks, zebras, and wildebeests, among others. With an abundance of bird life, it is an avid birdwatcher's delight, so guests are encouraged to bring their bird guides and binoculars. They can discover surprises around every corner, from fragile flora to slow-moving tortoises, ensuring an unforgettable experience.

The river offers great freshwater angling experiences and challenges for both addicted anglers and newcomers. At nightfall, guests can sit on the deck and gaze up at an unforgettable star-studded sky or simply soak up the sounds of the bush and the beauty of a moonlit night while sipping one of the superb South African wines.

Situated high above the lodge with an incredible view of the mountain range and the Great Fish River, guests can enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from the comfort of the deck. The bedroom has a king-size bed with a freestanding fan and a mini-bar.
