Idwala Lam Guest House is a BEE Certified establishment. It is owned by Mrs CX Magoxo, a black business woman who was born and raised in Gompo, East London. Prior to her involvement in the hospitality industry, Mrs Magoxo worked as a school teacher.

After discovering her passion for the hospitality industry, Mrs Magoxo initially faced resistance from her husband when she decided to resign from her teaching job to pursue a new career path. However, she eventually resigned and gained employment at various hotels in East London, Eastern Cape. Her dedication and talent were evident from the outset, as she received numerous promotions within a short period of time.

Mrs Magoxo subsequently established her own restaurant, which led to the catering services she continues to provide to this day. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, she has catered for local and international dignitaries, including the late former president of South Africa, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

After their children moved out, Mr and Mrs Magoxo converted their family home into Idwala Lam Guest House, a 13-bedroom establishment. Each room features a standard en-suite bathroom, and the guest house also includes two dining rooms, two private lounges, two kitchens, and a braai area. The rooms accommodate up to two people and are equipped with a double bed, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, an electric blanket, two bedside lamps, a writing area, tea/coffee making facilities, a bar fridge, and a microwave. Meals are available upon request at an additional cost.
