Izintaba Private Game Reserve

Izintaba Private Game Reserve is located on a private game farm approximately 290 kilometers north of OR Tambo International Airport, outside of Vaalwater in the Waterberg region. The reserve features six fully equipped, luxurious self-catering cottages with varying capacities ranging from 4 to 15 guests. The accommodation is ideal for various occasions including family gatherings, reunions, small conferences, intimate weddings, and romantic getaways.

The establishment offers both self-catering and catered options, with meals served in the dining room for those selecting the dinner, bed, and breakfast package. As a family-friendly destination, Izintaba welcomes children of all ages and provides guests with the freedom to explore the 1200-hectare game reserve through activities such as walking, mountain biking, fishing, birding, and game drives.

The reserve boasts a temperate, malaria-free climate year-round. The luxuriously furnished thatched chalets overlook the Waterberg bush veld, featuring private patios, lapas for wood fires, and opportunities to experience magnificent sunsets and starlit skies. A swimming pool nestled among large boulders offers refreshment after outdoor activities.

The property encompasses diverse habitats and scenery, hosting over 40 mammal species including giraffe, brown hyaena, aardvark, and bush-babies. The area is home to more than 200 bird species, various reptiles, and countless insect species. The reserve features a perennial stream, dam, wetland, open savannah plains, dense bush, and rocky outcrops.

Izintaba specializes in intimate bush weddings, providing a thatched venue with a central fireplace and natural surroundings perfect for ceremonies and photography. The reserve offers complete privacy and, notably, does not host any of the Big 5 animal species, making it safe for families with children to experience nature firsthand. The accommodation includes six distinct cottages: Zebra, Bushbuck, Kudu, Duiker, Giraffe, and Izintaba Lodge, each uniquely configured with various amenities including en-suite bathrooms, fireplaces, private braai areas, and comfortable living spaces.
