Izintaba Private Game Reserve

Izintaba Private Game Reserve is situated on a private game farm located approximately 290 kilometers north of OR Tambo International Airport, outside of Vaalwater in the Waterberg region. The reserve offers self-catering and catered accommodation in six fully equipped, luxurious self-catering cottages that can accommodate between 4 and 15 people. The cottages are suitable for various occasions such as friend or family gatherings, reunions, birthday parties, small conferences, intimate weddings, or romantic bush getaways.

Guests have the option to either cater for themselves or select a dinner, bed, and breakfast option, with meals served in the dining room. Izintaba Game Farm is an ideal family holiday destination, welcoming children of all ages and offering guests the freedom to enjoy the bush at their own pace through activities such as walking, mountain biking, fishing, birding, or game drives on the 1200-hectare game reserve.

The area features a temperate climate throughout the year and is malaria-free. The thatched chalets are luxuriously furnished, comfortable, and overlook the typical Waterberg bush veld. Guests can relax on their patio, anticipating the magnificent sunset, making a wood fire in their private lapa, observing the incredible night sky, and savoring the heady scents and wild night sounds of the bush veld. A swimming pool, set amongst large boulders, provides a refreshing respite after a long bush walk or on a hot summer day.

Izintaba offers a diverse range of habitats and scenery, supporting a wide variety of animal species. Over 40 mammal species, including giraffe, brown hyaena, aardvark, and bush-babies, can be found on the property. Additionally, over 200 bird species have been recorded in the area, along with interesting reptiles and innumerable insect species. The reserve features a perennial stream, a dam, a wetland that attracts various water birds, open savannah plains where game can be easily viewed, dense bush, and rocky outcrops.

Izintaba caters for small, intimate bush weddings, with the beautiful natural surroundings providing a perfect backdrop for the ceremony and bridal photo shoot. A thatched venue with a roaring central fireplace is available to celebrate the union. Guests can enjoy the bush at their own pace through activities such as walking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, birding, or guided or self-guided game drives. The reserve offers complete privacy and is an ideal place for children of all ages to experience nature first-hand, as it does not host any of the Big 5 animal species.
