Jabulani Elephant Workshop - Hosted By Dr Johan Marais

The Jabulani Elephant Workshop is hosted by Dr. Johan Marais, a world-renowned elephant expert and veterinarian. It is a three-day workshop that explores the complex social structures, behavioral patterns, genetics, and importance of elephants to wildlife areas and other mammal species. Participants gain insight into the management of elephants in fenced reserves.

During the workshop, participants observe these impressive mammals from the comfort of a game drive vehicle in the diverse habitats of the Kapama Private Game Reserve. The Jabulani gallery and stables serve as ideal venues for Dr. Marais's lectures, interactive presentations, and further discussions on this fascinating topic.

Dr. Johan Marais grew up in Namibia's Etosha and has had an unusual passion for elephants since his childhood. When he is not lecturing students, he leads rescue operations as a co-founder of Saving the Survivors and travels across Africa to research, promote, and implement the least invasive ways to manage elephant herds in fenced wildlife areas. His extensive research and photographic skills resulted in the bestseller "Great Tuskers of Africa."

The package includes three nights' accommodation at Jabulani, all meals, the workshop under the professional guidance of Johan Marais, all safari activities, return transfers from the Hoedspruit Eastgate airport, daily laundry service, limited wireless internet connectivity, statutory service charge, and VAT. Excluded from the package are beverages, private use of game drive vehicles, any transfers other than specified, conservation levies, and any purchases of a personal nature, including Spa treatments and Curio shop purchases. The package rate covers a US$80 donation to HERD.

Participants are advised to pack binoculars, a camera, sunglasses, sunblock, a wide-brimmed hat, comfortable shoes, clothing in neutral colors that can be layered, and a warm jacket for the early mornings and evenings. These packages cannot be combined with other special offers or discounted rates.
