Jaci's Safari And Tree Lodges

Jaci's Safari And Tree Lodges are situated in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, encompassing 75,000 hectares of territory where one can expect to see a wide variety and large numbers of plains game such as eland, gemsbok, waterbuck, wildebeest, and zebra. Sightings of endangered wild dog, black and white rhino, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, hippo, and giraffe are also possible, along with over 340 species of birds.

Jaci's Safari Lodge comprises seven tent rooms, the Safari Suite, and the exclusive two-bedroom Nare Suite. The rooms and Nare Suite feature shaggy thatched roofs and canvas walls for a tented feel. Each room has an open-plan bathroom with a hand-built rock bath and outdoor safari shower, as well as a private wooden viewing deck overlooking a small stream frequented by animals and birds.

The Main Lodge includes a spacious lounge, open-plan kitchen and dining room, curio shop, and upstairs bar. Guests can enjoy meals in an enclosed boma or under the stars at a bush braai after game viewing activities.

The Nare Suite is an exclusive bush retreat named after a resident buffalo bull. It accommodates a maximum of four guests in luxury and privacy. The bedrooms have open-plan bathrooms with rock baths and outdoor showers, and a wooden viewing deck overlooks a waterhole frequented by animals. The suite includes a lounge, outdoor dining area, self-contained kitchen, private game vehicle, and professional guide.

The Safari Suite overlooks the Marico River and is suitable for families with older children. It features a loft room for children, a living room leading to the main bedroom with a private plunge pool and river views, and a bathroom with an outdoor shower under a Tambotie tree.

Jaci's Tree Lodge has eight Tree Houses constructed among the riverine forest on stilts, encompassing giant Tambotie or Leadwood trees. The Tree Houses feature open-plan en-suite bathrooms with stone baths and outdoor showers, allowing guests to enjoy the forest surrounds. Raised wooden walkways connect the Tree Houses to the Main Lodge and its facilities.

Children of all ages are welcome at Jaci's, with special rates and activities tailored for different age groups. Bush Weddings are also offered for couples seeking a celebration away from city life.

Guests can expect to see the Top Ten of game viewing, including wild dog, black and white rhino, lion, leopard, spotted and brown hyena, cheetah, giraffe, and 340 species of birds. The Starbed suites feature a King bed, wrap-around outside deck area, lounge, writing desk, private library, adjoining bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a starbed on the roof.
